Our history

1992

The story of Borncut’s pioneering portion cutters began in 1992 on the island of Bornholm. Back then, our founders developed the first portion cutter while working at NORFO, a small but innovative company. As NORFO evolved—first becoming part of Scanvaegt International and later joining Marel—our passion for precision cutting never wavered. Today, that same drive fuels Borncut as we continue to redefine portioning technology, setting new industry standards with every cut.

1992-2015

For over two decades, our founders honed their expertise in portioning technology, continuously innovating and improving solutions at various companies, including Marel. Throughout this time, Bornholm remained the major hub for portioning advancements.

2016

Borncut was born, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter. With a bold vision and a commitment to innovation, we launched a major development project. Our journey began in a small office at “Møbelfabrikken” in Nexø—a startup hub that nurtured our early growth. By October, we had outgrown our space and moved to a larger facility on Almindingsvej in Rønne, where we established both our office and workshop, setting the stage for the future of portioning technology.

2017

This year marked a major milestone for Borncut as we introduced our first cutting-edge portioning solutions. We launched the BC 225D, a powerful dual-lane machine, alongside the BC 225R, a high-performance single-lane model. As demand grew, we expanded our lineup with the BC 225S, our first true single-lane machine, designed for precision and efficiency.

2019

Borncut took portioning technology to the next level with the launch of the BC300-3 in 2019, a game-changer for the meat industry. Designed specifically for meat processing, this advanced portion cutter featured a three-camera system, enabling unparalleled precision, accuracy and efficiency. By capturing multiple angles, the BC300-3 ensures optimal portioning with minimal waste, delivering higher yields and consistent results.

2020

Borncut expanded into auxiliary equipment with the launch of the servo-controlled Quick Sort units—QS225S, QS225D and QS300. Designed for seamless integration with our portion cutters, these high-speed sorting solutions improved efficiency, accuracy and throughput, further optimizing food processing lines.

2021

Big moves—literally! We launched the ervo-controlled Equalizer 225S, a smart unit designed to sort portions and adjust spacing for smoother, more efficient processing. As demand grew, so did we! In November, we upgraded to a larger facility at Lillevangsvej in Rønne, giving us more room to innovate and expand.

2024

Borncut is reaching new heights! Our global network is expanding, bringing our cutting-edge portioning solutions to even more markets. This year, we're making a big impact at international expos, showcasing our latest innovations. A key focus? A more modular, system-based approach, led by the new CubeMaster Line—designed for ultimate flexibility, seamless integration, and next-level efficiency.
